Finding the right space after a major rent increase
- Situation
- A Southwest Florida medical practice faced a new building owner who wanted to more than double the rent, after the doctor had already paid to build the space out as a medical office.
- My role
- I reviewed the lease and the true cost of staying, worked to negotiate with the new owner, and when those talks stalled, ran a full search and lease negotiation for a new location that worked as a medical office.
- Outcome
- The practice secured a new office at a rent that fit the business, avoided the increase, and stayed in the area serving its patients.
